If Wi-Fi starts working safely, the problem lies in some applications. Most often, Internet failures can begin due to utilities directly related to this type of wireless connection. You may not notice that the signal strength scale drops sharply as soon as there is a wall between you and the router. Test your network speed by getting closer to your Wi-Fi source.

There is also a possibility that other electrical equipment that surrounds you is interfering with you. Have you noticed that the connection drops sharply as soon as you turn on the microwave or Bluetooth device? Take this into account, and for diagnostics, turn off everything except the router.

Often problems can arise since there are a large number of access points around you. They can interfere with each other. In this case, you can switch Wi-Fi to 5 GHz mode, but the problem is that not all smartphones, tablets, and routers support this technology.

  • Tap on Reset network settings.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions, and the default settings will be set within minutes.

Reset your settings

Several settings are available on smartphones and tablets. They may conflict with each other and, quite likely, adversely affect the operation of different gadget components. The MAC address is 48 bits long and is assigned to each network adapter individually.

So, to further increase the security of your network, you can enter permission into your router to connect devices with specific MAC addresses only.

The connection will fail if you have a new device and the MAC filter is active. You can solve the problem by turning off the filter or entering a unique MAC address in the allowed list.

Is Wi-Fi enabled?
